Om en dryg vecka släpps Bruce nya platta, jag har gjort något som jag inte brukar göra. Jag har laddat ner den från nätet och nu levt med den en hel vecka. Jag har sällan blivit så överraskad av en skiva. Den är fylld av olika musikstilar, allt från country,till klassisk Springsteen-rock,till riktiga valstakter, till hiphop och soul. Det är en skiva som jag kommer leva med länge.
Här är ett försök att sätta ord på de elva låtarna:

We take care of our own

Plattans singel, en klassisk Springsteens-låt med trummor och en refräng som fastnar. En låt som jag tror kommer att inleda många konserter i sommar.
Den här och You got it tävlar om titeln att vara den mest klassiska Springsteen-låten.

Easy Money

Samplade trummor, en härlig fiolslinga i en irländsk låt som påminner om Seeger Sessions. En låt som kräver några lyssningar. Ingen munter text direkt.

Shackled and drawn

Liknande trummor som i Easy money, men lite muntrare ton. Härlig låt som också bygger på irländska fioler. En låt som är lätt att gunga med i.
Ni som gillade Seeger Session och Live in Dublin kommer gilla den här.

Jack of all trades.

Plattans stora ballad - en vals med en härlig pianoslinga, skön trumpet i mitten och en härlig gitarr. Kanske plattans starkaste låt.


Death of my hometown:

Trummorna igen, ytterligare fioler och en refräng som fastnar.
Skön sång av the Boss i en låt som påminner lite granna om Nordman.

This depression

En balladliknande låt där The Boss är riktigt deprimerad. Dämpade trummor, klaviatur och gitarr bygger upp en låt som kräver några lyssningar. Gitarren i mitten är skön.
Kanske en av plattans svåraste spår att sätta ord på.

Wrecking Ball

En countryliknande låt som skrevs när The Boss rev Giants stadium i New York.
Glada gitarrer, en trumpet som funkade perfekt som inledningslåt på Giants Stadium år 2009.
Kanske blir det den här som kommer inviga på Ullevi i sommar.

You got it

En klassisk Bruce-låt som bygger på ackustisk och elgitarr, ett piano  i en låt som påminner om det som vi bjöds på Magic och Working on a dream. Kanske den låt som jag tycker är tråkigast. Kommer förmodligen växa flera klasser live.
En låt som verkar vara skriven för E Street band.
Som sagt den och inledningslåten är mest klassisk Springsteen.

Rocky Ground

Låten börjar med en samplad röst: I am a soldier för att följas av en änglalik kör som sjunger We've been traveling on a rocky ground. Skönt piano.
Bruce sjunger coolt och i mitten finns till och med en kvinnlig rappare.
Jag tror att det här är den låt som kommer få mest speltid på den vanliga radion.
I mina öron plattans stora hit.

Land of hope and dream:

En klassisk låt som skrevs redan 1999 och finns på Live in New York City. Den här har ni redan hört så jag skriver inte så mycket som den. Kraftigt omarbetad dock.

We are alive:

En härlig country-influerad låt som påminner mycket om Johnny Cashs Ring of fire. En glad låt som också kommer få mycket speltid i radio.
Den låt som jag gillar mest just , I mina öron ytterligare en hit!

Hela skivan är luftig och underbart producerad.

Summa summarum ger jag plattan 5 av 5.
Jag håller den redan som en av Bruces fem bästa plattor.
